It is with grief and sadness that I must report on the passing of Brother LeRoy Johnson. Posted below is obituary with service information.
Mr LeRoy Johnson, age 91, passed away November 14, 2014 with his family at his side. He was born February 24,1923 in Bluffton IN. He was adopted by Thomas LeRoy & Mildred Johnson of Fremont MI, in 1924. LeRoy graduated from Fremont High School in 1941. He then served 4 years in the Army Air Corp during WWII, serving 1 year in China Burma India Theatre. He married lola Jones on March 15, 1947. LeRoy was a life member of Lovell Moore Lodge 182; Scottish Rite 32* and the Muskegon Railway Historical Society. LeRoy was a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church since 1973. He retired from Consumers Power in 1985 after 36 years. LeRoy enjoyed his model railways and working in his yard.
LeRoy is survived by 2 sons, Paul of New York and Scott (Andra) of Whitehall; daughter, Cindy, of Chesapeake VA; grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly (Josh), Kathleen (Anthony), and Charles (Bethanie); and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marguerite Hill, and his wife lola of 60 years.
Wednesday, November 26, 2014, 11:00 AM at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. Interment at Laketon Township Cemetery.
Tuesday, November 25, 6:00-8:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home – Muskegon and Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIAL: May be made to Laketon Bethel Reformed Church.
